About Cobb Elementary School
Cobb Elementary School has its roots in a school that is rich in history and tradition for the community it serves. First the original building served as a senior high school. It was then torn down, and the new elementary school was erected on the same site.
We are a small, urban School-Wide Title I school serving students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth. Additionally, we have three classes identified as Programs for Exceptional Youth (PEY), an English as Second Language ( ESL) class, four instructional assistants, who provide targeted assistance through in class redemption and/or computer lab, a parent involvement specialist and a physical education teacher. Cobb Elementary School's academic performance is the focus of our educational team. Utilizing data collected from the Stanford 9 Achievement Test, we have developed a school improvement plan to target specific areas of need in curriculum and professional development. We believe that the unified efforts involving educators, students, parents, community stake holders, and available resources will insure complete success.
