Elizabeth Beatty
I grew up in Alexandria, Alabama and graduated from AHS in 1986. I started college at Jacksonville State University in Fall of 86, but dropped out a year later after being employed full time with the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office in Anniston, AL. After a hiatus from JSU that lasted until Spring of 89, I started my coursework again determined to become a teacher. I graduated in the Fall of 92 from JSU with a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education with dual certification in Elementary Education. I began my teaching career as a kindergarten teacher in Louisiana from 1993-1998. I moved back to Alabama in the late summer of 98 and worked at Wellborn Elementary school as a 5th and 2nd grade teacher until I transferred in Fall of 2001 to Ohatchee Elementary. While at OHS, I taught kindergarten for one year, grades 5-6 Science/Social Studies for 3 years, and grades 7-8 remedial reading for 2 years. I also coached the Jr. High softball team while there. In the Fall of 2005, I left Calhoun County Schools to teach kindergarten again for Oxford City Schools at the Dearmanville campus. In the Fall of 2006, I was offered a job with Anniston City Schools and been here since that time. This year, I began my 27th year of teaching! I'm back teaching kindergarten once again at Cobb Preparatory Academy!
