Welcome to Golden Springs Elementary School. I am Mr. Phillip Posey, and this is my first year as principal of GSE. Here at GSE, we recognized the importance of working together as a team with teachers, parents, students, and community stakeholders to ensure academic, social, and emotional success for every student. I have worked in the field of education for twenty-one years. I began my career as a first grade teacher at Cobb Elementary School. During the early stages of my career, I served as a Reading Specialist and middle school teacher before transitioning in to instructional leadership as Assistant Principal of Anniston Middle School. Before district consolidation, I served as Principal of Cobb Elementary School. Following consolidation, I served as the transitional administrator between Golden Springs and Anniston High School before securing the Assistant Principalship at Anniston High School. Prior to becoming principal of Golden Springs Elementary, I served as the Assistant Principal at Anniston High School.
I attended Jacksonville State University where I earned my B.S. in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Science. I later earned my Master of Education degree in Elementary Education from Jacksonville State University. Soon after completing my graduate degree, I enrolled in the Educational Specialist program at Jacksonville State University where I earned and Ed. S. in Educational Administration.
Our mission at GSE is to develop actively engaged long-life learners in the 21st century as we encourage creative and critical thinking in a safe and collaborative environment. Together we want all GSE students to be equipped to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century. In order to accomplish these goals, we commit to teach with an emphasis on literacy through science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling and spending time with my extended family and friends.
I am honored to have this opportunity to serve our students and community. I look forward to working together to support our students, families, faculty, and staff.
