Superintendent's Message
The holiday season is upon us once again, and we continue our commitment to advancing our students’ academic progress. We initiated our tutoring program on October 23rd, and it appears to be running smoothly.
On another note, on October 10, 2024, the Alabama State Board of Education voted to approve an increase in the cut score for Grade 3 On Grade Level reading over the next three years. In the 2023-2024 school year, the cut score for third-grade students was set at 435. The newly approved measures will raise this score to 444 for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 school years, and 454 for the 2026-27 school year. Additionally, for Grade 2 students, the cut score for On Grade Level reading will increase to 463 for the upcoming two school years and to 471 for 2026-27.
Moreover, all students in Alabama are required to complete a computer science course by 2032, a goal we are already working towards with offerings available at our middle and high schools.
Exciting developments are underway in Anniston City Schools, so please stay tuned for updates from our office.
As always, it’s a great day to be a Bulldog!
